Twenty years ago, Stephen Canfield quit music to afford insurance after being diagnosed with a chronic disease. Two decades later, he returned to the studio under a name he hopes to reclaim: Healthcare.

Bringing together influences from Emmylou Harris and Cat Stevens to Brian Eno, Boards of Canada, Suzanne Ciani, and Wilco, the music is a listenable mix of classic Americana, soaring instrumentals and ambient textures—made with friends who have recorded and toured with the likes of Kacey Musgraves, H.E.R., Daniel Caesar, Mikky Ekko, Natalie Hemby, and more.

100% of Profits from physical sales will be donated to help musicians in need of baseline medical care.

Contributors to the project include: Adam Ollendorff, Kylie Dailey, Kevin Dailey, Dan Burns, Larissa Maestro, Juan Solorzano, Cam Brousseau, and Josh Cobia—with artwork by Lawrence Azerrad. Songs were engineered and mixed by Dylan Alldredge with mastering by Alex McCollough.
